Turkey is located at a point where the three continents, Asia, Europe and Africa closely meet each other. It is considered the " gateway to the East" as it connects Asia and Europe. The Thrace part, or the European part of the country is bordered by Greece and Bulgaria, while the Anatolian place, or the Asian part of the country, is bordered by Iraq, Syria, Iran, Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan. Turkey is bordered by four main seas; the Aegean Sea to the west, the Mediterranean to the south, the Black Sea to the north and the Marmara Sea, which is the located between the Thrace and the Anatolian.
The summers in turkey are hot and dry while the winters are warm. Most
of the rainfall occurs from November to February. In the middle of the summer, the temperature averages around 30 C°. A lot of plants grow in the coast such as fruits, cotton, tobacco, grain, and vegetables. Near the Black Sea temperatures are cooler and it rains more. This makes
it easier to grow tea and hazelnuts. Cattle breeding and agriculture
are really important. People grow wheat, beans, potatoes, grapes and
sugar roots. In the highlands the winters are cold and snowy and the summers
are hot. The mountains can contain snow during the summers as well.
